The CIEP is a recognized professional body in London, UK for editors and proofreaders, whose aim is to make text accurate and readable. It has a Code of Practice for all members, designed to “establish standards of best practice for members and associates of the CIEP and to encourage good professional relationships”. Advanced Professional Membership of the CIEP requires evidence of a high degree of competence and substantial experience in copy-editing/proofreading.
